Opened in 2014, the resort presents an image of substantial size right from the approach. I’m not usually drawn to mega-hotels, but in Orlando, this scale works well, given the spread of amenities and activities on offer.
Despite its size, the property rarely felt crowded during our stay—even at high occupancy. The main hotel structure is a single building, yet the overall layout spreads out with a generous collection of amenities. The guest mix—often including conference attendees alongside park-goers—means many people aren’t lingering in the central public areas for long periods.
The lobby features plenty of marble and a grand feel, but it’s far from austere; during our visit, it was particularly lively thanks to festive holiday decorations.
Rooms and suites are modern and luxurious. A nice touch: several rooms offer views of Walt Disney World, with fireworks visible from the balcony—an extra bit of magic for guests.
Geographically, the resort sits within the gated Golden Oak community at Disney World, and provides an upscale shuttle service to the parks, ensuring quick access when you want it.

Even at a hotel of this size, the level of care remains remarkably steady. I wondered whether a large, high-room-count property could sustain such service, and the answer is yes.
In a word, service here feels frictionless. That may sound overly simple, but it’s a real achievement: responses from room service arrive promptly, food is delivered on time, and requests arrive exactly as specified.
As you’d expect, this property is exceptionally family-friendly—perhaps even more so than typical Four Seasons properties. At check-in, kids participate in a mini “registration” process, filling out a form with their preferences and earning a lollipop as a small reward. It’s a charming touch.
In-room touches included a Miles-sized plush toy, a child-friendly bathrobe, and slippers—small details that count when traveling with little ones. Housekeeping was meticulous and considerate, even placing plush animals on the bed during routine service.

Most guests are probably here to visit the parks, but there’s a tremendous amount to do on-site. The resort features a five-acre water park called Explorer Island, which is perfect for families seeking play and relaxation without leaving the property.
If you need a retreat from kids, there’s an adults-only pool with a stunning design. For families, there’s a large pool complex and a lazy river that’s a real highlight. There’s also a smaller splash pool for younger children and a pool area near the kids club.
Beyond pools, you’ll find water slides, rock climbing, a pickleball court, tennis courts, and more, plus a full gym and an expansive spa (which I didn’t get a chance to explore fully).

Dining options at the resort are varied and high-quality. Ravello, the Italian restaurant, serves breakfast with both an extensive buffet and an a la carte menu. On certain days, there’s a Disney-themed breakfast featuring Goofy and friends, which Miles especially enjoyed.
Capa, the rooftop steakhouse, holds a Michelin-starred reputation and is a standout dining destination.
The hotel also adds thoughtful touchpoints, such as complimentary coffee in the lobby each morning and occasional guest-friendly events like a free basic wine hour with red and white selections.

It’s important to acknowledge that Four Seasons properties typically sit at the premium end of the market, and Orlando is no exception. Base room rates generally range from around $800 to $1,500 per night, with fluctuations across seasons.
A recurring consideration for Disney visitors is that many guests are out exploring from morning until night and only use the hotel for sleeping. After two busy Disney days, we were exhausted and planned a quieter final day at Explorer Island, though Miles seemed overwhelmed by the sheer energy of the experience and spent much of the day resting.
If you want the best resort experience in Orlando and appreciate the reliability and quality of Four Seasons, this property is a strong choice. Just be sure you carve out time to truly enjoy the resort itself, not just the parks.
