Norwich 1-2 Birmingham: Blues Hold On to Beat Norwich and Extend Unbeaten Run
A thrilling encounter at Carrow Road saw Birmingham City secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Norwich City, extending their unbeaten streak to an impressive six games.
The match began with a burst of energy as Birmingham took the lead within five minutes. Bright Osayi-Samuel's precise pass found Vicente, the newly signed Spanish winger, who raced down the right flank and finished with precision at the near post, leaving the Norwich defense in his wake.
August Priske's side was buzzing with confidence, and Priske himself almost doubled the lead with an acrobatic overhead kick, which was unfortunately saved by Vladan Kovacevic. The Blues continued their dominant display, and Priske's vision found Ducksch with a first-time pass, allowing the German forward to roll the ball past Kovacevic and score his ninth goal of the season on the 14th minute.
With the game seemingly under control, Jonathan Panzo had the chance to make it 3-0, but he fluffed his lines, turning Demarai Gray's cross wide of the near post. Norwich, however, was not ready to give up. In the second half, they transformed their performance and began to dominate the game.
Birmingham goalkeeper James Beadle was called into action, making crucial saves from Mohamed Toure and Kellen Fisher. Toure even hit the outside of the post, but it wasn't enough to prevent Norwich from pulling one back on the 67th minute when McLean fired into the top corner from Toure's pass.
The second half was a tense affair, with Beadle repeatedly denying Anis Ben Slimane and Mathias Kvistgaarden in the dying minutes. Birmingham held on to secure the three points and extend their unbeaten run, leaving Norwich to rue their missed opportunities.
